Call for Curando Caribe stimulus fund opens

The training program is now transformed into a stimulus fund to support the production, research and dissemination of Dominican art and its actors, in the local and international scene.


The program Healing Caribbean, conceived by the Cultural Center of Spain and the León Center, evolves in its fifth edition, from a training program to a stimulus fund to support the production, research and dissemination of Dominican art and its actors.

El Caribbean Healing Stimulus Fund It is aimed at Dominican artists and curators residing in the country and foreigners with more than five years of residence in the Dominican Republic.

El Caribbean Healing Stimulus Fund includes: 4 international residences for artists or curators; 4 support for artistic or curatorial research for a maximum amount of US $ 1,000.00 each; Y 2 mobility supports for a maximum amount of US $ 1,000.00 each, for the participation of artists or curators in non-commercial artistic events abroad.

The selected projects must be initiated or planned to be carried out / completed between April and November 2020. The selection process will be carried out by a team of national and international specialists linked to the Caribbean Curing Network.

La call closes on March 14, 2020 and the results will be published on April 3, 2020.

Healing Caribbean, conceived by the Cultural Center of Spain and the León Center, is a project to strengthen the creative processes of three important segments of the Dominican contemporary art circuit: artists, managers and audiences.

After 6 years of continuous work in the training of local circuit actors and promoting the construction of collaboration networks with the international circuit scenes, this time the Program aims to contribute and encourage reflection and knowledge generation from contemporary art.
