The Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation is a private non-profit institution created by the León Asensio brothers and Grupo León Jimenes to contribute to the social and cultural development of the Dominican nation.
The Foundation was established on November 29, 1995 with the purpose of managing socially relevant, participative and self-managed projects, with a vocation of exchange and collaboration between national and international groups and institutions. It is part of Grupo León Jimenes and a key unit in the development of its corporate social responsibility programs.
The origins of Grupo León Jimenes date from October 3, 1903, when Eduardo León Jimenes founded the first company of the Group, La Aurora, in XNUMX square meters of cultivated land of tobacco, in the community of Don Pedro, Guazumal, province of Santiago. After that modest beginning, this company was transformed into a diversified business group, at the forefront in the industrial and commercial field of the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.
