EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

The León Center offers all the students and teachers of all the Educational Centers of the country, the possibility of living a formative and sensory experience when visiting the exhibitions and facilities of the institution. These visits, prepared prior reservation with the teachers of the schools that carry them out, promote the appreciation of Dominican art and culture that seek to support the development of critical thinking, and strengthen the assessment of their own identity in children and young people. EThe community project Numeremos Nuestras Houses is a project whose purpose is to provide solutions to the social problems of the lack of signage in some neighborhoods of the city of Santiago. The first edition held in the sector of Los Cerritos de Santiago, the children of the community made twenty pieces of ceramics made for the signaling of the houses of that community.

The project starts by identifying the streets and houses that need to be signposted, then a creative workshop is given for children and young people who will participate in this creative process, obtaining as a result the realization of the pieces that will be placed in the houses.

It is a program that seeks to sensitize communities towards the protection of the environment through various creative processes, promoting the participation of the entire sector in the care and cleaning of different community environments using metal tanks intervened with artistic works, thus showing that Art can also be linked to the sustainable development of the community.

The Imagined Community is a program that has been sustained under the mystique of contributing to community development through creative experiences in schools. In this way, the quality of life of the social environment can be clearly improved, reinforcing the playful, creative, artistic and cultural participation of young people. Promoting the development of skills, abilities and skills, providing knowledge and techniques that have become artistic-cultural communication tools for dialogue between actors and socio-educational sectors, you can get positive perceptions of the present and the future in their realities.

Each Creative Summer Camp is specially designed to strengthen the observation capacity, expressive language and reasoned thinking of children and young people from 4 to 12 years, expanding their knowledge and skills through teamwork. One camp per year is held in the month of July, with capacity for 150 children.
