The León Center offers all students and teachers of all the Educational Centers of the country, the possibility of living a formative and sensory experience when visiting the exhibitions and facilities of the institution. These visits, prepared with prior reservation with the teachers of the schools that carry them out, promote the appreciation of Dominican art and culture that seek to support the development of critical thinking, and strengthen in children and youth the appreciation of their own identity. The educational visits are directed to school groups of all levels of education of the national education system. They are complementary activities of the exhibition and educational programs and aim to contribute to the understanding of art, Dominican culture, geography, history and sciences in general, guaranteeing a unique experience in direct contact with the permanent exhibitions of the León Center.

Archaeologists for a day
Thematic tour that revolves around archeology, anthropology, history of pre-Columbian cultures, Taino art and culture.

Development of topics on the sugar industry, the trapiche, the Dominican economy since the sixteenth century, miscegenation, religious syncretism, Africanness, identity, music, dance and gastronomy.

Activity related to the visual arts, Dominican art history, color theory, technique and subject matter in the Dominican visual arts, applying the methodology called Think of art.

Mud is fun, facilitates independent and cooperative play through sensory stimulation and the application of modeling techniques.

Activity around the linguistic heritage of the Taino culture, its contributions to the Spanish language and its validity in the contemporary Dominican culture.

General information
Each group can have a maximum of 25 students and must be accompanied by at least two representatives of the educational institution, who will be responsible for the students during the tour. Parent volunteers can participate; The maximum number of adult companions to visit the exhibitions is 4 for each group.
The script for the tour of the exhibition halls is planned to take place in an approximate period of 50 to 60 minutes. We recommend that when planning your visit to the León Center, in terms of time, you consider that the institution has other recreational spaces, such as gardens, with a collection of sculptures and an aviary, as well as a cafeteria and a shop, among others. .
Beginning level students can also visit the León Center. This tour for the little ones has a special script, with an approximate time of 20 to 30 minutes to the exhibition Identity Signs
