The Imagined Community is a program that has been sustained under the mystique of contributing to community development through creative experiences in schools. In this way, the quality of life of the social environment can be clearly improved, reinforcing the playful, creative, artistic and cultural participation of young people. Promoting the development of skills, abilities and skills, providing knowledge and techniques that have become artistic-cultural communication tools for dialogue between actors and socio-educational sectors, you can get positive perceptions of the present and the future in their realities.
As part of the project, children and youth shared with parents, teachers and other members of their community, in an encounter in which all together made an analysis of their environment, to then imagine the community they would like to have in the future and the contributions that each of the participants would have to do to achieve that dream.
A third meeting consists of educating artists and students, where students created works related to their environment. Everything done in this workshop was exhibited in the school sites selected for the development of La Comunidad Imaginada. Facilitators, teachers and the León Center team participated in the assembly of the exhibitions, who taught the students the design roles in the installation of an exhibition.
After carrying out the first Imagined Community, one of the participating students said in a very simple and emotional way: "Now my community has the colors that I imagine I had. I myself was one of the painters".
