Belt made of clay, cabuya, wood and snails on canvas and henequen that is part of the carnival costume of Taimáscaros.

The Taimáscaros are personal characters of the Puerto Plata carnival whose name comes from the union of the words taino and mascaro. Their costumes combine maritime, Afro-Antillean, European and Taino elements, the latter serve as inspiration for the design of the masks.

Curious fact:

The Taimáscaros arise, at the beginning of the 90 years, before the desire to create an autochthonous element in the carnival of Puerto Plata.
