The work consists of two video loops and a large format painting. A video presents the process of making this painting and next to it, simultaneously, the other loop that shows the performance of the artist in which she dances in front of the painting rubbing her wet body against the mural, erasing part of the painting in the action.
"Siboney is a performance that explores the stereotypical constructions of the Caribbean and the Caribbean woman based on fantasies elaborated from the otherness of the foreigner. A fabric with a "generic" tropical print found by the artist and the song Siboney in the version played by Connie Francis were the starting elements for the investigation that resulted in this work.
